Jubilee Cup round 1 results

The first beach competition of the year took place on Sunday 21st January for the Heron, the 1st of 2 rounds for the Jubilee Cup.  Unusually, only 8 anglers took to the shores as this event is normally well attended.
Catch rates were fairly slow with pin whiting proving a pest but 5 managed to weigh in bags consisting of whiting, dabs and flounders. The best of the latter falling for T. Morris with a 1lbs 3.4oz specimen fish. Along with that, Tony takes the lead in the event with 9 fish in total from a Studd Hill mark.

Full results as follows;
1st- T. Morris, 9 fish, 4lbs 6.4oz
2nd- D. Smith, 5 fish, 1lbs 14.4oz
3rd- K. Morris, 3 fish, 14.8oz
4th- B. Morris, 2 fish, 10.8oz

Charsley Beach competition Sunday 17 December 2017 results

Sunday 17th December saw the last of the Heron’s 2017 competitions take place with the Charsley lunch.
Fishing the West beach, 23 anglers set up outside the clubhouse prior to the annual pie and mash meal provided as part of the event.
Despite a continual flow of undersized fish, the final takings were disappointing but, keeping it in the family, 8 of the 9 competitors who did weigh in were a Morris! With 2 dabs and a whiting the eventual winner was D. Morris, no other species were landed.

 Full results as follows;
1st- D. Morris, 3 fish, 1lbs 7.8oz
2nd- P. Morris (jnr), 3 fish, 1lbs 2.6oz
3rd- I. Morris, 3fish, 1lbs 2.4oz
4th- L. Perry-French (jnr),2 fish, 1lbs 0.4oz
5th- S. Morris (L), 2 fish, 13.4oz
6th- K. Morris, 1 fish, 6.8oz
7th- T. Morris, 1 fish, 6.2oz
8th- B. Morris, 1 fish, 5.6oz
9th- J. Morris (jnr), 1 fish, 4.2oz
