Sunday 29th April The Heron Angling Society held the Osman Cup beach competition
along Herne Bay beaches between Swalecliffe and Cold Harbour.
The competition had 15 members enter and thankfully the weather had calmed from
the relentless wind and rain of the last week or so.
Only 4 members weighed in sizeable catches, flounders, eels (returned alive) and
a dogfish were caught, results as follows;
1st - D. Smith, 2 fish, 2.10lb
2nd - G. Mummery, 1 fish, 0.74lb
3rd - M. Turner, 1 fish, 0.64lb
4th - M. Morris, 1 fish, 0.62lb
D. Smith had the heaviest fish with an eel of 1.18lb
