Just five anglers made the trip over to Deal for the Jackson Cup beach competition on Sunday 26th April 2015.
Limits were from the slipway at sandwich through to Walmer Castle with the pier out of bounds.
Drizzle persisted throughout the event and fairly strong NW winds made casting and bite detection difficult.
In the end catches were fairly poor and consisted of dogfish, eels, whiting, rockling and micro-pout.
Greenhill member T. Sadik found the most productive spot at Walmer with 4 dogs, a rockling and a pouting while B. Morris bagged 3 dogfish from the chequers pub for second spot.
S. Stephenson took the heavy fish pool with a dogfish of 1lb 7.0oz
Full results as follows.
1st- T. Sadik, 6 fish, 5lbs 11.1oz
2nd- B. Morris, 3 fish, 3lbs 13.3oz
3rd- S. Stephenson, 4 fish, 2lbs

Lawler Pairs competition results
The second boat fixture of the Heron 2015 campaign got under way on Sunday 19th April with the Lawler Pairs competition.
Seven pairs set out, with combined weights counting toward the trophy. (although individual results are also recorded for the championship)
The fairly strong NE wind which greeted the anglers as they left the increasingly silted harbour thankfully abated after a short while and warm, calm conditions prevailed.
Most headed for the Weir bank area with skate in mind. Dogfish were ever present but there were also plenty of whiting to keep anglers busy as well as small smooth hounds and dabs.
At the end of play however, it was M. Morris who came up trumps, bagging four sizeable skate. The best of which was a modest 7lbs 15.8oz which helped toward besting second placed T. Morris by over 10lbs.
Junior member L. Perry-French narrowly missed out on the heavy fish pool with an impressive ray of his own at 7lbs 14.7oz and P. Gower weighed in another of 7lbs 4.6oz.
Coupled with G. Mummery's bag however, which included a good whiting of over 1.5lbs and a skate of his own, he and Mick took top spot for the event.

Osman Cup beach comp results
Just four out of fifteen anglers taking part in the Osman Cup on Sunday 12th April 2015 managed to bring in a catch for weighing at the end of a very poor days fishing.
There was a very present Westerly wind throughout the event making any bite detection awkward and bright sunshine too which never seems to favour shore fishing in Herne Bay.
The highlight of the event came from S. Stephenson who tabled a cracking bass of 2lbs 4.7oz from the Rand, taking the heavy fish pool.
A few competitors reported catches of small whiting but a dogfish, a tiny pouting and a sizeable whiting accounted for the other weights.
Full results as follows;
1st- S. Stephenson, 1 fish, 2lbs 4.7oz
2nd- K. Morris, 1 fish, 1lbs 11.2oz
3rd- T. Morris, 1 fish, 4.5oz
4th- B. Perry-French, 1 fish, 2.5oz
