Sunday 3rd May saw the return of the Heron's beach roamer competition, the Dave Mann Diamond Jubilee Trophy.
In this event fishing is between 9am and 5pm with anglers permitted to take to any Kent beach excluding piers or venues where an additional fee is payable.
Just nine anglers took up the challenge, three stayed local to Herne Bay with the remainder heading to Walmer and Sandwich.
Herne Bay proved less than fruitful with no sizeable catches being returned and only one angler reported an undersized bass and flounder.
Catches from Sandwich weren't great either with just a couple of dogfish, whiting and pouting landed.
The winners by far were the two GSAC members who fished Walmer, both returning with better numbers of dogfish. All entry money went to the top three in prizes.
