Ten anglers set out from the club on Sunday 5th July for the boat open limits bass competition with the heaviest fish taking the prize.
Boats spread out to all corners of the bay's marks with one heading to cold harbour, another the Weir bank, one on the pier head and another went out to a wreck just off of the red sands forts.
Catch reports from all included smooth hounds although none very big, the best was just 5lbs 7.8oz.
Whiting, dogfish and pouting were also boated but the bass weren't playing ball.
Several members reported undersized fish with T. Morris landing nine! Amongst those however, Tony did manage one sizeable bass of 2lbs 2.6oz and was the only entrant to weigh in a catch.
Results as follows;
1st- T. Morris, 1 fish, 2lbs 2.6oz
