Following the fairly poor results from January's first round of the Jubilee Cup, there was all to play for in the second round. Fished on Sunday 4th October, the surprise came that the competition leader, P. Harnett, was absent from the event while 11 others took part.
Conditions were great for fishing but very poor for fish with bright sunshine and calm, clear waters. In fact only 5 members returned with sizeable catches.
T. Morris found 3 varieties from his spot by the 'hundred steps' toward bishopstone with a flounder, a whiting and a good dab of 8.6oz.
A single whiting was the end product for 3 other entrants but it was M. Morris who ended up coming out on top. Mick fished cold harbour and along with 2 whiting landed a bass of 2lbs 10oz.
Not only did the this win the heavy fish pool and the day but the overall cup as well.
