Despite a bleak weather forecast, it was good to see 15 anglers turn out for the annual Heron vs Greenhill club beach match.
The Greenhill club started with the advantage, having 9 entrants to the Heron's 6.
The water was gin clear and flat calm with just rain to contend with, most headed for the Kings hall area and spent the four hours feeding the crabs.
In the end only one competitor managed to actually find a fish in an otherwise dire event. T. Morris' flounder scooped the entire £62.00 cash pot and won the event for the Heron!
