Strong Northerly winds made fishing difficult for the twelve anglers who took part in the Heron's second beach competition of the year on Saturday evening.
Several fished the Kings Hall area with most others opting for Reculver's beaches. Catch rates were reportedly fairly poor and only half the entrants finally weighed in a sizeable catch.
T. Morris took top spot from middle bank with 3 whiting and a reasonable rockling of 7.2oz whilst brother K. Morris bagged the heaviest fish with a flounder of 10.2oz from the same mark.
Junior member, L. Perry-French took second place from the harbour arm with a whiting, a dab and a rockling.
Other bags were also made up of whiting and rockling.
