Seven Heron’s ventured out for this years Dave Mann Diamond Jubilee beach trophy on Sunday 20th May. Whilst no championship points are given for the event, the entrants compete to win the trophy and the entry fee monies as prizes and can fish any Kent venue of their choosing (provided it is free to fish).
It seemed, in the end, that the north Kent coast was barren as all that fished it returned empty handed.
A.Wood did marginally better from Ramsgate’s undercliffe, returning with a flounder but the place to be was clearly Walmer.
S. Stephenson and T. Sadik returned with 44 fish between them, including mainly dogfish, and easily took the top two spots.

1st- S. Stephenson, 27 fish, 33lbs 2.2oz
2nd- T. Sadik, 17 fish, 21lbs 13.2oz
3rd- A. Wood, 1 fish, 9.4oz
