With 8 anglers taking part, the 4 boats headed out in conditions which were slightly choppier than anticipated. Thankfully the wind was short lived and by the end of the event, the seas were much calmer.
All returned with reasonable catches of whiting and dogfish whilst dabs, bass and a lone thornback were also landed.
The latter fell to T. Morris and at 6lbs 10.6oz he won the heavy fish pool for the event. Having one of his good days, Tony easily bested the competition and with 41 fish for 33lbs 11.6oz took top honours.
Meanwhile, both D. Neiles and L. Perry-French returned with a sizeable bass each, Lewis’ offering of 2lbs 5oz currently leads the way for the Derek Line Bass Trophy.
