Despite the heavy rain, fourteen anglers turned out on Sunday 2nd November for this evening beach competition.
Most headed for Reculver beaches which turned out to be the most productive. Good catches of dogfish and whiting were had by all but those fishing bishopstone to the kings hall missed out on the doggies.
K. Morris and D. Foreman both added small codling to their catches too, which is obviously encouraging to see.
It was again however GSAC member S. Stephenson who stormed into 1st place with 25 fish in total including a cracking dogfish of 2lbs 2oz which will earn him a club specimen medal and won the heavy fish pool.
Full results as follows:
1st- S. Stephenson, 25 fish, 21lbs 11.2oz

Heron AS Autumn Boat Festival results (photo's added)
With reasonably strong SW winds on all three days of the Heron AS Autumn Boat Festival, fishing was uncomfortable at times but thankfully all three days were fished regardless.
Catches were varied and sporadic, whiting numbers were not as prevalent as expected and those who did find them in numbers had to sift through hoards of undersized fish to fill their bags, dogfish were also present as ever as well as skate, dabs, pout and it was also good to see a few codling landed too.
The biggest of the fish fell to M. Morris with a reasonable ray of 9lbs 11.9oz on Sunday and of his four codling boated on the Saturday, Mick also took the biggest of those at 2lbs 2.7oz.
The numbers game was the tactic for T. Morris who landed 175 sizeable fish over the three days and did well in the event on the whole as a result.
Other highlights included codling from C. Zacharia and G. Mummery, with skate from K. Wilton, P. Gower and C. Zacharia. An impressive pout of 1lb 6.7oz form B. Morris was also brought to the scales.
Overall it was M. Morris who held his own over the three days however and took top spot with an aggregate weight of 95lbs 12.1oz.

Evans Trophy boat competition results
Perfect, glass like seas welcomed the 12 anglers who turned out for the Evans Trophy boat competition on Saturday 27th September.
Most opted for the Weir bank with encouraging catches of whiting, dogfish and dabs. P. Thornton and his partner R. Lowe decided to move into the Rand after a few hours however which proved fruitful for them as Richard landed a skate of 7lb 4.4oz and a bass of 2lb 0.2oz within the first few minutes of the move.
The skate won him the heaviest fish pool.
Brothers G. Mummery and S. Mummery made the best choice in the end though by fishing the Woolpack area, George won the event comfortably, besting 2nd place by nearly 10lb including a small skate of his own with Sam narrowly missing out on 2nd spot.

Lady Mayoress Charity Beach Fishing Competition Results
A decent turnout saw 24 entrants take to the beaches between Seasalter and Coldharbour for the Lady Mayoress' Charity open competiton on Sunday 21st September.
With a relatively cold, strong onshore NE wind it was brilliant to have so much support for the event even by those who didn't fish. Early indications are that well over £500 was raised for the various charities.
The fishing was fairly tough given the conditions and reports of bait stripping crabs came in too.
Nonetheless, 8 competitors weighed in a catch with mixed bags of bass, eels, flounders and whiting.
It was great to see the ladies and junior prizes won but the overall winner of the day was David Andrews, not only did he take the trophy with 3.762kg but he also scooped the heaviest fish pool with a lovely bass of 1.256kg AND the greatest number pool with 6 fish!
2nd place went to Mick Morris whose bass of 0.926kg was not too far behind Dave's and 3rd place went to Darren Kennedy with eels and a whiting.
Mrs Penny Morris took the ladies prize with a 5th place finish and Joseph Marshall the Junior in at 7th.
All in all a great day was had by all and it has been a successful fund raiser. A big thank you to all involved in arranging it especially Wendy Dinley, Dennis Foreman and the G.S.A.C.
Full results as follows;
1st-D. Andrews, 6 fish, 3.762kg
2nd-M. Morris, 2 fish, 1.206kg
3rd-D. Kennedy, 3 fish, 0.840kg
4th-P. Gower, 1 fish, 0.818kg

Jubilee Cup 2nd round results
A very foggy but calm morning greeted the nine anglers that turned out for the Jubilee Cup 2nd round on Sunday 7th September.
All were keen to get back to fishing after the summer but unfortunately all the fish were seemingly still on their holidays!!
In fact, the only reported catch by anyone was a very small bass from Studd Hill for T. Morris.
The trophy therefore goes to S. Stephenson for his efforts back in January in the 1st round.
