Dave Mann Diamond Jubilee beach competition Results

The first annual Dave Mann Diamond Jubilee beach competition was fished on the 20th May 2012 with 21 anglers taking part. The competition is a roamer event where anglers were permitted to fish any Kent beach (excluding any venues where a fee is payable).

The weather was less than ideal with a howling NE wind across the county but thankfully no rain! There were some decent catches of bass, whiting, dogfish, eels, flounders, pouting and rockling.

There were prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd as well as heaviest fish and greatest number (these were by elimination so no angler could win 2 prizes)

Results as follows;
1st- S. Stephenson, 5 fish, 10.16lb
2nd- M. Finch, 6 fish, 7.92lb
3rd- M. Morris, 4 fish, 4.80lb
4th- K. Morris, 4 fish, 4.74lb
5th- R. Philips, 7 fish, 4.40lb
6th- P. Thornton, 7 fish, 4.00lb
7th- D. Smith, 3 fish, 3.42lb
8th- G. Mummery, 1 fish, 1.22lb
9th- M. Radwan, 2 fish, 1.18lb
10th- B. Morris, 2 fish, 0.90lb
11th- D. Foreman, 1 fish, 0.58lb
12th- S. Weal, 1 fish, 0.30lb
13th- J. Williamson, 1 fish, 0.26lb

The other 7 anglers entered failed to weigh in sizeable catches.

Despite the heaviest fish caught being a nice bass at 3.96lb by S. Stephenson, he had already won the 1st place prize so K. Morris took the heaviest fish win with a dogfish of 1.90lb and the greatest number was won by R. Philips with 7 fish. (P. Thornton also had 7 fish but R. Philips had the superior weight of the two)
