With the weather remaining cold and icy, there was little hope of decent catches for the 10 anglers who took part in the Heron's Osman Cup beach competition on Sunday 7th April.
We were however, all pleasantly surprised to find the wind had dropped and the sun was shining for the early morning start. Four members weighed in catches of flounders, all from Studd Hill, with those fishing Reculver and Bishopstone marks all blanking.
P.Thornton's run of good luck seems to have come to an end for now with K. Grove picking up all 12 points to move within 1pt of the current leader.
T. Morris had the heaviest fish at 0.62lb winning him the £10 pool.

1st - K. Grove, 2 fish, 1.08lb
2nd - T. Morris, 1 fish, 0.62lb
3rd - D. Smith, 1fish, 0.60lb
4th - L. Perry-French, 1 fish, 0.36lb (junior)
Next beach comp is the Jackson cup to be fished at Deal on May 19th, meeting outside Deal Angling Club at 1345hrs.
