Six Herons took up their oars for the annual ‘Old Rules’ Competition on Sunday 2nd September.
In the event anglers have 4 hours in which to fish and row to and from their chosen mark. Using just one rod each and 4 hooks maximum. The conditions weren’t ideal as a persistent easterly wind pushed through but worse still, the fishing was woeful.
In the end just one angler managed to land a fish and win the event. B. Perry-French took the title with a dogfish of 1lbs 1.4oz. Hardly any other bites were even registered by others.
